Richard Gintowt fell offstage at Davey's Uptown Ramblers Club because he got too drunk that one time. Michelle Gaumé Finn married the guy who used to review our records. Smokin' Brett Resnick quit our band and 10 years later he was opening for John Prine at Red Rocks. Nate Holt was probably the most consistent and invested member of Hidden Pictures. Claire Adams is the reason we put out a third record. Does Erik Voeks still work at a record store? Chad Toney believed in God when he joined our band but now he doesn't. We should probably have let Corey Vitt use more delay pedals. Tim Brandsted and his lil bronie Alan Brandsted steered our rhythm section through the early years. We spent some of our happiest times at our super-producer Pat Tomek's place. Cameron Jöel can play the drums apparently. So can Lennon Bone but it's hard to pull him away from the penny slots at the 7th Street Casino. Josh Adams played on our first record because we paid him. I can't remember if we paid Billy Brimblecom Jr. but if not we should have. Dave Gaume got us our best sax sounds. Joel Nanos was basically a member of the band and our forever producer. Ed Rose made us sound like The Get Up Kids on "Rainbow Records". I swear just a couple days ago I told the story of how Mike Nolte could put down two Chipotle burritos in one sitting. Kyle Akers had a lot of useful suggestions during his short stint playing bass in HP. Jeff Freling shredded guitar so hard in two marathon studio sessions. Nate Harold played bass on a few tracks before joining that band fun. Mike Giffin probably did more mix revisions for us than any other client. I'm pretty sure Paul Malinowski got us our best drum sounds. Jacob Winik welcomed us to the Bay. Jason Quever meticulously tracked our "California Plates" EP at his house in SF while a torrent of sewage flooded his neighbor's house. Doug Van Sloun mastered all of our records and one of these days we'll catch a Royals game. Cameos were made by Tom Clowes, Hannah Jensen, Mike Walker, Melissa Kaitlyn Carter and Doby Watson. Dustin Mapes recorded one of our best tracks in my dining room. Patrick Giroux and Jordan Michael Gray did incredible graphic design for us at a very fair price.
